Périples : Catch up, catch up !

So here's a little post to catch up on some things I did in Granada. Well, actually not really, just some nice streetstyle-ish pictures of my friends !

Riccardo, who's mind is still stuck in the last century, but in a cute way. It's always to see him dressed up like pirate... or a farmer. Whichever !

When Rita dressed like that... I felt as if I was in a Tumblr world... Like I was actually INSIDE tumblr... Some sort of Pleasantville-like remake but... with Tumblr. I just had to take a picture.

Shorts : Topshop
Shirt: ?
Shoes: Vans

Victoria, that cutie pie, always the best dressed... never willing to pose for the camera. That's basically the only picture I could get out of her. When clearly, all her outfits were as pretty (or maybe even better) than this pastel-floral-chiffon combination. And I am actually in love with these glasses !

Glasses: H and M
Camera : Diana
Bag : Zara
Shirt : Zara
Shorts : H and M

By the way, I've entered Cocoskies' giveaway... you should really check it out !

LCM

Hi ! I haven't posted in SO LONG. Gosh, I'm actually disappointed with myself because I've been meaning to post so much stuff... and I haven't. So let's start with something that's fresh news... or fresher news !

So, I am doing a short internship at Tank Magazine, an amazing art and fashion quarterly. I'll talk about that later, but first, yes, you guessed it... I got to attend London Collections : Men the first fashion event specifically for men. I visited the galleries, the showrooms
(and I must say I was impressed !)

Funky Sibling stuff

Mind-blowing shoes
 Men jewellery !
Cute little ties and bows and hankerchiefs and... ahh
 A fat blow cat. Casual.

Amongst all the things I saw, I'm still scarred by the amazing Mr. Porter shirts. I gave them my e-mail, so I'm awaiting a look book in my inbox soon ! I actually don't care if their for men, I'm saving up for one. (That's a lot of things I'm saving up for now -_- : Proenza Schouler bag, Wang bag, Equipment shirt, and now Mr. Porter shirt)

No, you are not hallucinating. This is a picture of the Martine Rose catwalk... and yes, the one right below this useless observation is a backstage pictures *in love*.

I got to hand out Berocca to models and other guests... Yes, well I'm still an intern, am I not ? I caught a glimpse of Martine Rose herself... and Alexa Chung was smoking a cigarette right next to me (By the way, she is so skinny I feel fat) . I saw her like ... thrice. I can now die in peace ! hahaha, nah, I'm kidding, I'm not stopping here yet !

Shopping Madness

Wow ! So blogging regularly isn't so hard after all ! ... No, really it is. You need a lot of organisation to do it... So here is a little post on what I got at Urban Outfitters the other day, my mom took me shopping (her, her credit card and my voucher to be more exact) to celebrate the end of my GCSE controlled assessments. I was literally having panic attacks and nervous break downs every single night before a controlled assessment, and I'm finally done... Now, I can stress over information and ideas ! How amazing.
Anyway, on a happier note, here is my shopping madness ! (I'm hoping to make it a series or something, but I don't want to promise anything as I seem to break every single promise I make on this blog).

1. We were in line to pay when I saw this dress. It was literally love at first sight. I had to try it on in the queue over what I was already wearing... which I hate doing... If changing rooms have been invented, it's for a reason : People don't like trying things in front of strangers. Anyway, I think it fit... I immediately took it off. It's by Cooperative, a brand I discovered a little while ago at UO. I have their insect/bees/flies button shirt if you see what I am talking about... I really like and I wear really often so I'm hoping it will be the same with this dress... well at least in the spring or summer. BUT OF COURSE, IF SPRING DOESN'T SHOW UP IN LONDON, IT'S OBVIOUS I'M NOT GOING TO WEAR IT. SO SPRING, YOU BETTER SHO UP SOON.

2. I was wearing this jumper the very next day I got it. It's just so nice, soft and slouchy. It is probably the most comfortable hoodie I have. I am happy that I finally found a little trendy hoodie because... I've been out of my american-apparel-hoodie-phase for years now... and it's like when you've had too much of something, you can't even stand a little bit of that thing. So, on my way to recovery from my hoodie-shock and I have a feeling I'll wear this with anything !

3. I've been looking everywhere for a nice festival-ish crochet top, and I've finally foud one ! ooh, this reminds me that I should show you that crochet dress I got from Seoul ! scribbles in agenda to post something about trip to korea. Right, so, I was afraid that this tee would be too fitted like those crop tops that are too narrow and that I can never ear with anything. But it actually turned out pretty well cut. It's maybe not as wide as I was picturing a crochet top in my head, but I still love it... Now I'm just missing the sunny day to wear it!

4. When I learnt about Dia de los Muertos a good 5 years ago, I was fascinated with idea of honouring the lost ones by actually celebrating and partying hard (well... maybe not the partying hard part). So when I saw this sugar skull printed shirt, I just HAD to get it. It's a really nice soft and boxy tee a little big for me but I like its slouch. I found it in the sales section so it kinda helped me make my choice. No hesitation, threw it in the basket and off we go ! No really, UO tees are usually £28 which is so disproportionate for a simple tee-shirt, you know, so when I saw the £10 tag, I just couldn't resist.

5. Same thing with this raw-edges tank, I saw it from far away in the sales sections so I quickly went to grab my size. I just love to neon orange skulls and bones and I think the graphics are just harmonious somehow. So I got it for £10 instead of £25 and I was the happiest girl of the world !

6. Are you in love yet ? Are you jealous yet ? I think yes, this gorgeous blouse basically has everything I love on it. White, smooth blouse ? Check. Collar ? Check. Vintage cottony fabric ? Check. Flowery patterns ? Check. Studs ? Check. Neon ? Check. Neckties ? Check. Everything, my friend, everything. I already have like a thousand white blouses but this one is by far the best one... Or it's probably a tie between this one and my Acne silk blouse... I can't wait to wear this with a sweater, with skinnies, with a skirt, with shorts... with anything really. It's a Claudie Pierlot top which really surprised. I had no idea there was a Claudie Pierlot corner at UO... And I must say, I'm quite impressed !

You probably know this top already, I think more than 50 girls at my school have it but whatever, really. It's just too soft and nice. I love the shredding and I love the crossed back... It's perfectly cut and I is just slouchy enough. (You probably notice I use slouchy a lot) it's loose and comfortable and if having a tee everyone has eventually bothers me... I'll just wear it on holiday and weekends ! You can't have everything !

YES ! YES ! YES ! I finally got my creeeeepers. I was looking for creepers everywhere last year and this year and couldn't find any I liked. When i went to UO in december 2011, these  were just in and cost a fortune. Like, no way I'm buying £85 shoes I'm going to soil the first day because of london dirt and rain... So I just left with empty hands hoping to find a similar cheaper pair. Well, my prayer's been heard ! I found these for £40 the other day and I just couldn't pass them. Yes, I know there a size too big... but guess what ? I had just invested in insoles !

So here's a last little bonus picture just for you ! Hope this regular blogging thing continues because I'm starting to like it !

Fashion Show 2012

Since it's been more than a month since the Fashion Show actually happened, I would like to get over and done with it. So, let's go a little overview of the catwalk. All the lovely photo used here were taken by the photographer who was probably an art teacher... and everything's been put in chronological order

Before we start... I have a confession... well not really a confession, if you're smart you probably noticed already. I WASN'T THERE. So most of the groups I don't even know about but I did see the program once so i'll probably remember 1 name or 2.

Now, you can enjoy !

So... Of course, I don't know the name of this group but I believe it was something similar to "Mille et une nuits" or something... I just really the creativity and courage it took the girl in the middle to walk down in a bra in front of parents, teacher and students... So props for that. I don't why but for some reason I am quite in love with that elephant dress I just think it's really funny and well done !

Ah-ha! That one I know ! My amazing friend Eloise was in that group. They are "Suits". They all had suits but with a little twist. I really think they did a great job and didn't take themselves too seriously. Both in their clothes and choreography, they knew how to all this with humour. They just make me envy them so much, I wish I had been there just to have seen them have fun on stage. When I first saw Xenia's suit, (in the middle) I would never have thought that they would have a fun show like this ! It's basically a classic shirt with a spider web cutout on the back and others on the sleeves. Max's suit is just hilarious, nothing else to say. And I love the sheer details and all that patchworking on Eloise's suit (left). Plus...the little tatoos they had on their feet are just adorable !

This one is "Life in Technicolor". I remember seeing the name on the program and wondering who they were. I really liked those dresses that are more like wearable dresses. I don't mean I would wear that anyway but they are closer to the "wearability" standards of some brands' catwalks. I think my favourite dresses are the gold and yellow ones just because they're short and well... I'm too short for anything longer than that !
What I really appreciate about this group as a whole, is that they kept the designs continuous and obviously related. The same pattern is repeated more or less on the dresses and it just looks more like a "collection" rather than just a bunch of dress-up characters put together on stage.

The group "Gods fun and games" was quite surprising, I must say. I didn't really see the relation until I heard Maia (middle girl) talk about elements and fire and all that. Now it all seems clearer but still... what are the statues doing here ? I still think the dresses were quite well made although I don't think there was a lot of making/sewing. However, I didn't find a picture of JC who, I think, was supposed to be like supreme god with his face painted gold and wearing a big roman robe. T

And I present you my lovely little "Kids" ! I was so disappointed not to see them on stage... I already knew the dresses obviously since I helped for Clara's (candy) and had seen Julia's before (scoubidou) and of course, had seen all of them together backstage. I know Julia was worried that her dress wouldn't stand out as much as the others as they really had statement dresses. But I really like the vintage feel of the thick white fabric and the scoubidous hanging like a 30's flapper dress. As for the other ones, they really were all unique and sweet. I was really surprised to discover Muriel's (cards) and I was in awe when I saw those giant cards used as a skirt. That was really smart, so props for that ! Natasha's (crayons) was in the same spirit with those big colouring papers on her dress. It's really too bad you can't see Helen's, I'll try to find a good picture of it for you. It's basically a maxi dress with clusters of legos... She looked gorgeous in that dress.

That's really embarrassing... I have absolutely no idea what those are from and I don't even know if they're from the same group... but I have to say, if I get my hands on those shorts the ... ravioli girl (let's just call her that, her top looks too much like a korean ravioli) was wearing, I am not letting go !

The "Beauty and the beast" ! Those were amazing dresses, I mean, you can see how much effort and work they put it those dresses. I particularly like the twins's dresses (far left and far right) for some reason. Julia's rose dress is an obvious choice, she looks like such a princess in that dress but I also love Margot's I think her dress falls really nicely and fits her... like a glove ! To see Eleonore's impressive gold dress, scroll all the way down, you'll see a picture of the group. She's the one in the middle.

I wouldn't want to say something silly... but I think this group is "N*ggas in Paris" or New York or something... I must say that I would wear everything (well maybe not that basketball shirt) but ... something kind of bothers me. I'm not that any of those pieces were actually made... and the fashion show is really about making not styling... So either they did a great, professional job or they just wore their own clothes which isn't really in line with the spirit of the show.

I really couldn't be less sure of their name but I'll have a guess... "roots"? or "evolution" ? No, I don't think they were evolution... Anyway, I really enjoy discovering those ! I mean the baby dress is Gaga-esque, I'm speechless. As for the transparent-flowery dress, I think it's absolutely brilliant ! So great work anonymous group !
c
Those "Wedding" dress are impressive ! I hate to say I have a favourite... but I just have to. Esther, your 'natural' gown is wonderful ! And green really compliments you so I expect you to be wearing this on your wedding day ! Well... maybe not but I still love it !
The lace detailing and the immaculate white are really good choices as well.

Olympics !! I would've been surprised not to see this theme this year ! London is the host city after all, isn't it ? Those dresses looked amazing and so joyful ! I think they won the Fashion Show and they really did deserve it. They all looked amazing in those colours and that flag dress hmmm... is it on sale ?

Alrighty... well I have no idea hat this group is but I'm guessing it's something about war... Yes, yes even you could see that I don't need to tell you. But Really great outfits, girls ! Ripped fabric, messy tulle, splatters and bullets... Everything's there, nothing to add. Perfect catlwalk !

"Alice in Wonderland" ! Not only are the dresses very cool and the Mad Hatter absolutely hilarious, but THEY USED A REMIX OF ALICE BY POGO. So there, nothing to add. The music is the detail that won me over.

"New York New York" ? Is that the name of the group ? Well does it really matter anyway ? No, it really doesn't every single dress from the building to the yellow cab is remarkable. Really well though of and I would totally wear that Statue of Liberty frock ! Again, I have to say I have a favourite. That witty taxi cab dress is just dreamy. Too bad yellow doesn't compliment my oh-so yellow face...

4 Seasons ! The obvious theme actually impressed me. When I read that name on the programme, I just really thought it was such a common, dull theme it couldn't be good. Well, I was wrong ! Well done girls for these fiery gowns !

Little bonus pictures that represent the bubbly atmosphere at the catwalk... Really wish I was there !
